I install all major Type 2 home chargers — Tesla Wall Connector, Zappi, Fronius Wattpilot and similar quality units. Supply-and-install, or I’ll fit a compliant charger you’ve already bought. Every EV sold in Australia charges from Type 2 at home, so the install works whether you drive a Tesla, BYD, MG, Hyundai, Kia or anything else.
Honest pricing: most single-phase 7kW installations land between $850 and $1,800 depending on switchboard capacity and cable run length. Charging at home is dramatically cheaper than public fast-charging. On a typical Adelaide plan a 7kW home charger adds around 40–50 km of range for roughly the price of a coffee, and on an off-peak or EV-specific overnight tariff the cost drops further again. Over a year of normal driving, most households save hundreds of dollars compared with relying on public chargers — and you never queue at a charging bay or detour to a servo again.
If you have solar, the savings are bigger still. A smart charger like a Zappi or Fronius Wattpilot can be set to charge from your excess solar during the day — effectively fuelling the car for free from power you’d otherwise export for a few cents. At the free assessment I’ll walk through how your charger, solar system and tariff work together so you lock in the cheapest possible charge.
A 7kW charger is one of the biggest single loads you can add to a home, so the switchboard has to be up to it. Older boards with ceramic fuses, no spare circuit ways, or no RCD protection usually need attention first — not to sell you extra work, but because running a high, sustained charging load through an undersized board is exactly how you get nuisance tripping or worse. I check all of this during the free assessment and tell you straight whether the board is fine as-is or needs an upgrade.
Where the supply allows, dynamic load management lets the charger automatically throttle back when the rest of the house is drawing power — so you can often add a charger without upgrading the mains. On single-phase you’ll charge at up to 7kW; with three-phase, up to 22kW where your vehicle supports it. I size and configure everything to your actual supply so it’s safe, compliant, and as fast as your setup allows.
